2006 Week 5 | Washington Redskins 3 : New York Giants 19

Whatever hopes of a turnaround for the Redskins faded even further as they lost their second straight game to fall back to two games under .500.

Washington managed a decent drive late in the first quarter to open the scoring with a FG, but that effectively ended the day for Washington's offense. New York's defense shut down anything else the Redskins tried, while Eli Manning repeatedly found receivers open and Tiki Barber ran efficiently. The Giants drove deep into Redskins territory several times, but miscues forced them to settle for field goals instead of TDs. Despite the dominance, the New York lead was only 9-3 at halftime.

New York ended any chance of the Skins hanging around by taking the third quarter kickoff and mounting an eight minute drive that ended with a Manning to Burress TD, making the score 16-3. Washington's only other scoring threat ended with a missed Hall FG, and the Giants added one more fourth quarter FG to make the final 19-3.
