Joe Gibbs' first game as coach of the Redskins. The offense had little of the look that would come to define the Coach. There was almost no attempt to establish a ground game, and John Riggins only ended up with eight carries. Gibbs chose to attack Dallas through the air, and despite only trailing by seven at the half, four interceptions by Theismann allowed Dallas to pile up scores the Skins could not answer.
