1981 Week 16 | Washington Redskins 30 : Los Angeles Rams 7
The Skins finished the 1981 season with a resounding win, demonstrating that they had begun to lay the foundation for future success. Los Angeles had an early 7-6 lead, but the Washington offense got rolling in the second quarter and reeled off 24 unanswered points led by two Riggins TDs. Although the Redskins had experienced some lows and been up and down all season, this win actually left them only one game out of the wild card playoff spot, adding even more hope that better things could happen in 1982.
