The Redskins played the Giants close in Gibbs' second game, but turnovers again gave an opponent too many opportunities to put the game away. There was no score at halftime, and the Skins trailed 10-7 late in the fourth quarter before a Theismann fumble gave the Giants an easy score to ice the game. This was the first meeting between Theismann and Lawrence Taylor.
