In the first game back following a two-month strike, the Redskins appeared to pick up where they left off, showcasing more efficient and balanced offense. Washington opened up a 21-0 lead behind a Riggins run and Theismann-Brown long TD. New York battled back in the third and fourth quarters, but could not stop the Redskins from answering with enough points to coast away with the victory.
