1986 NFC Wildcard Game | Washington Redskins 19 : Los Angeles Rams 7

The Redskins opened their 1986 playoff run over the Rams, a team they had blown out in the 1983 postseason. Although the score was not as overwhelming, Washington shut down Los Angeles and controlled most of the action.

The Skins opened up a 13-0 halftime lead, led by their only TD, a pass from Schroeder to Kelvin Bryant. Jess Atkinson proved reliable as a FG kicker, adding two FGs.

He would account for the Redskins only scoring in the second half, adding two FGs. It would be enough to hold off the Rams lone score, and Washington came away with a playoff win.
