1986 Week 14 | Washington Redskins 14 : New York Giants 24

The Redskins had their second long winning streak of the season broken, once again falling to the surging Giants.

Although the Giants defense made moving the ball tough for Washington, the Skins had tied New York at 7 late in the second quarter. The Giants answered with a snappy long TD drive before halftime, and they went in at halftime with the lead reclaimed at 14-7.

New York pulled away in the fourth as the Lawrence Taylor led defense continued to frustrated Schroeder and the Skins. The Giants added 10 points in the third quarter, and the Redskins could only pull a little closer late in the game with another TD. The Giants were now in the drivers seat for the NFC East title and home field in the playoffs.
