1986 Week 8 | Washington Redskins 20 : New York Giants 27
The Redskins lost for the second time in three weeks to the team that would prove to be their nemesis this season. New York pulled out to a 13-3 lead at halftime, led by a Joe Morris TD run.
They expanded their lead to 20-3 early in the third quarter, but Washington battled back to close the lead to 20-17, getting TDs from George Rogers and Gary Clark. The Redskins tied the game early in the fourth, but a Giants drive ending with another Morris TD gave them back the lead with under two minutes remaining. Schroeder led the Skins back into Giants territory, but could not connect on a fourth down, and time expired with the Giants winners.
