1987 Week 8 | Washington Redskins 27 : Philadelphia Eagles 31
Returning to division play for the first time since the strike, the Redskins faced an Eagles team coming together behind emerging superstar Randall Cunningham.
Washington jumped out to a 21-7 lead midway through the second quarter, led by a Monk TD catch and a Darrell Green fumble return. The Eagles battled back to tighten the lead at 21-17 by halftime, ending the half with Cunningham's first TD pass of the game.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, but Cunningham threw a TD pass early in the fourth to give Philadelphia their first lead. The Skins responded with a long TD pass to Clark to re-open a 27-24 lead just before the two minute warning. But Cunningham was again able to connect for a long TD pass, and time ran out with the Eagles on top.
