The Redskins needed a fourth quarter rally to return to the win column against the Saints.
The teams played to a 14-14 tie at halftime. Doug Williams accounted for both scores, throwing a short TD to Gary Clark and running one in himself.
Washington took a three point lead early in the third quarter, but New Orleans scored on a fumble return and added a FG of their own to open up a 24-17 lead going into the fourth quarter. Doug Williams led two scoring drives in the final period, throwing a TD to Ricky Sanders and pushing the Skins deep into Saints territory for the winning field goal.
