1988 Week 2 | Washington Redskins 30 : Pittsburgh Steelers 29

The Redskins got their first win of 1988 courtesy of Doug Williams, whose arm had to carry the offense in the absence of a solid running game.

Washington and Pittsburgh played a close first half, with both teams throwing long TD passes. Williams and Sanders connected for the second week in a row. At halftime, the score was 13-10 Steelers.

The Skins took a 20-19 lead in the third quarter after a missed extra point by the Steelers and a short TD run by Jamie Morris. Pittsburgh made their move to re-take the game, scoring 10 points to open the fourth quarter, including another long TD pass. But Williams led Washington back, first throwing a TD to Bryant, then leading a drive that was capped by Chip Lohmiller's game-winning FG.
