Doug Williams returned to the starting lineup, and the Redskins played a back-and-forth contest with Green Bay.

Washington opened up a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Packers battled back behind Don Majkowski, tying the score by halftime.

Green Bay took their first lead with another TD pass in the third quarter. Washington answered with a scoring drive capped by a TD pass to Bryant. The tie wasn't broken until there were less than 30 seconds left in the game and Chip Lohmiller hit a 20 yard FG.
