Washington's mid-season roll was halted on the road against Warren Moon's Oilers.
Moon and the Houston offense torched the Redskins defense, opening up a 24-3 halftime lead. Moon threw for two TDs and ran for one in the first half.
The Skins opened the second half with a drive capped by a Timmy Smith TD run, but the Oilers responded by rattling off another 17 unanswered points. A late Rypien TD pass only made the score a little more respectable.
