Mark Rypien returned to the lineup and the Redskins played one of their more solid games in several months.
Rypien threw two TD passes, one to Monk and one to Clark, before the half, leading to a 17-10 halftime lead. The Skins pulled away in the second half, with Rypien adding another TD pass to Clark and one to Kelvin Bryant. A late Saints score made it 31-17, but could not mount more of a comeback.
