Washington got back into the familiar win column, but needed a second half surge to break away from the Rams.
The Redskins held a close 7-6 lead at halftime, but Rypien hit Ricky Sanders and Earnest Byner for TDs in the third quarter, pulling the Skins out to 21-6. Two fourth quarter FGs put the game completely out of reach, and Washington ran their record to 12-1.
