The Redskins went back on the road and endured another back and forth contest.
The Bengals held a 7-3 lead after the first quarter, but Washington appeared to take the game over in the second. Riggs capped two drives with TD runs, and Brian Mitchell returned a punt for another score. Cinci could only manage another FG, and the Skins were up 24-10 at halftime.
Lohmilled hit a FG in the third quarter to widen the margin to 27-10, but the Boomer Esiason led Bengals were not done. They marched to two TDs before the third quarter was over, then added a FG early in the fourth to tie the game at 27. Washington mounted a drive late in the final period that ended with a Riggs scoring run, giving them the victory.
