1991 Week 7 | Washington Redskins 42 : Cleveland Browns 17

Washington pulled away from a scrappy Browns team to post another impressive score.

The game was tied after the first quarter, with Cleveland answering a Rypien-to-Monk TD with one of their own. The Skins appeared to blow the game open in the second quarter, scoring on runs by Byner and Riggs to pull out to a 21-7 lead.

The Browns made a run in the third quarter, scoring 10 points to narrow the Washington lead to 21-17. But Cleveland could not contain the Redskins running backs, and rookie Ricky Ervins got in the end zone before the third quarter ended to open the lead up to 28-17.

Washington put the the game out of reach after Riggs scored early in the fourth quarter to pad the margin at 35-17. Ervins put the nail in the coffin by bursting for a long TD run as the fourth quarter was winding down.
